In 45 BC Augusto won during the battle of Filippi against the assassins of Julio Caesar, Bruto and Cassio. Then this forum was erected and inaugurated in 2 BC, so as to honour the emperor. The forum was characterized by a colossus of Augusto of 14 metres high; whose remain only the base, and a footprint and thefragments of a bands. Actually one part is buried under Fori Imperiali's road.
