Founded by the French in 1495, it bas preserved some traces of the beautiful post-gothic architecture, even though it bas been damaged several timesthrough the centuries the side chapels are decorated with paintings by Damiele da Volterra, a pupil of Michelangelo's, in which the influence of the master is evident.
