These museums are split between the "Palazzo Nuovo" and the "Palazzo dei Conservatori". The former is mainly dedicated to sculpture, and there are a lot of classical works, among them the equestrian bronze statue of Marco Aurelio, of the 2nd century AD, which until recently stood in the centre of the square, and the "Sala degli Imperatori Romani", where 64 busts representing the Rsperors are displayad. In the latter you can see beside sculptures also painting by Rubens, Caravaggio, Tiziano and Tintoretto, which are esposed in a gallery on the second floor" In the courtyard there are also the bead and the hand of a colossal statue that belonged to Emperor Constantino.Not to mention the jewel of the museum, the "Lupa Capitolina", an Etruscan bronze from the 5th century BC, which is closely linked to the legend of Rome's foundation.
